I was going through a difficult time in my life. My spouse for close to 40 years had just passed away from cancer. Laura and the "Starr" team helped with all the legal matters necessary to Probate her Will. It was a very professional process and the team was by my side from the start to finish. UPDATE Jul 2025: It's been 9 years since our last estate plan update so we came back to make some changes. Bert and staff did an excellent job again of understanding our needs/wants in retirement years to craft the best plan. He also provided very helpful legal advice, of course, to ensure all the right things are prepared with our estate. Especially protecting one's assets and ensure the successor trustee has minimum hassle to handle one's probate. For your convenience one can make an online appointment now via the firm's website. Bottom line: if it's been awhile since you created an estate plan or life changes (marriage/divorce/children changes/business changes) contact the firm and update. 1st review 2016: The Starr Law Firm has created and maintained my estate and business affairs since 2000. As family and business plans have changed over the decade the firm has adjusted the legal documents to reflect current best practices at federal and state level. The firm works well with financial advisors and CPA tax professionals to make the best plans for the client. Bert Starr provides excellent legal and estate planning advice. We reached out to the Starr Law Firm to update our estate planning documents. It had been 10 years and we had recently moved from a different state. We have a modest estate and the folks at Starr were very kind, considerate and knowledgeable. We are very pleased with the outcome. Important documentation is well organized in a binder for quick reference and some “tools” to help you organize your estate records such as assets, debits, insurance policies, and family history. They even reminded us that sign in names; passwords and account numbers for online access should be managed. My wife and I completed our Wills in 1991. In the 31-year intervening period, we gained three grandsons, one of whom is a special needs person, and we very recently lost our only son. We decided that we needed to create a Living Trust for our family while updating both our Wills. We identified three law firms specializing in Estate Planning and thoroughly researched each firm. We decided on the Starr Law Firm and interviewed their senior partner, Bert Starr. The law firm had a particular strength in writing Special Needs Trusts which was important us. In the middle of the project, I had a medical emergency and they worked with us without any pressure and even offered to accommodate us in any way possible. The end result was an Estate Plan that was very comprehensive, very thorough, and it met our expectations entirely. Laura Starr created complete estate planning documents for us to include a living trust and a supplemental needs trust. When the time came to execute these documents, Laura led me all the way through the various processes. I definitely recommend Starr Law Firm for any type of estate planning needs.
